posted 04/01/2012 FALL 2012 SOCCER REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!
 While the Spring season hasn't even begun yet, we are already preparing for the FALL season. Registrations for Fall begin online on April 1st, 2012 through May 31st, 2012. We are also accepting online registrations for Rec Soccer Sponsors and for the 2012 WGDRSC Green Mountain Golf Outing up in Vermont on June 15th.
Parents of Pre-K children: Unfortunately, we can not accomodate more than 80 kids and we had to turn kids away for the Spring season as all 80 spots filled up in days. Don't be shut out and don't delay ...... hurry up and register today!! Also, please note that the oldest birthdate for the Pre-K program has been expanded from 11/1/2007 to 8/1/2007!!
While there will be an in-person registration at Pitkin on May 15th, save yourself the trip and the wait and just register and pay online from your home or office!! If you want to pay by check, register online now and just run into the in-person night and drop it off .... we will confirm your registrations quickly and mark you as paid. However you decide to pay, register now and get it done!!

2012 WGDRSC Green Mountain Golf Outing Booking Online NOW!!
If this is your first Green Mountain Challenge Soccer Tournament with the club, then we are sure you will have a great time. You won't believe how many folks from Wethersfield will be there with you and your family .... it seems like the entire town picks up and heads north for this weekend! Be prepared to swim, hang out by a bonfire, cook out, sleep late, and don't forget to bring your golf clubs too ..... oh yeah, and you can watch a little soccer as well! Every year the WGDRSC arranges discounted rates for our members to get together and golf at Stratton Mountain Golf Course on the day before the start of the Green Mountain Challenge Soccer Tournament. This year, we are accepting reservations and payments ( ONLINE ONLY) as you register for Fall soccer ( CLICK HERE TO REGISTER). If you are looking to play soccer in Wethersfield next Fall, then registrations will be taking place online during April and May (Late fees apply to ALL registrations after May 15th!!). Please visit www.WethersfieldSoccer.org for more information about registration and all of our soccer programs. In the past, the club has been very informal and lenient with dates. Since much of the registration work, roster formation, payments, and scheduling was done on paper and individual spreadsheets, making changes was fairly simple and this method worked fairly well. Now that we have gone to a predominantly 'online' system and extended the registration period, that system does not work so well. Beginning with the Fall 2012 registration, EVERYONE must register online, and all rostering and scheduling will be done in this manner as well. While we will have an in-person registration on May 15th, 2012 at Pitkin Community Center, anyone that stops by will be asked to enter their information into our online system on our computers. While we will provide one or two PCs for registration, we expect that the wait could be fairly long at times. We would like to save you (and us) the hassle and ask you to just register online at home, work, or he library. We will also accept checks at the in-person registration, but only on that night. If you would like to pay by check, please register online at home before you stop in. Then we can look you up, enter your payment and get you moving along quickly. In all truth, there is no benefit to registering in-person except that you get our wonderful customer service and lively chat ….. but it may come with a wait. Register at home and you can still come down and chat … without the wait! J

JUNE 4th-15th: Travel Soccer Tryouts - All players interested in playing travel soccer in Wethersfield for 2012-2013 MUST try out at these and they must be registered and paid in advance (there will be no registrations or payments at the gate, so register online during April or May)
The rec division has also had some issues in the past with late registrations, team formations, and finding coaches for late registrants. In the past several players have simply been added to existing teams as coaches were not available. This caused rosters to swell to numbers that we a little too high (limiting the amount of time for all players) This year they will be 'waitlisting' players after an estimated quota is reached. Waitlisted players will only be assigned teams if there are a suitable # of players and coaches can be found from the parents of the waitlisted players. If there are only a few on the waitlist, they may be added to existing rosters at the discretion of the director of each division. We STRONGLY encourage people to register early this year and check with all of your children's friends to make sure that they did as well. For rec only, we are open to accepting requests for team placement, but please note that we can not always honor your requests. In making teams, we try to balance each team with a combination of children from each grade level in the division in order to keep the teams competitive. This allows for a better experience for all children in the division.
It is quite easy and secure to register and pay online. All personal information and monetary transactions are taken care of by third party vendors (LeagueAthetics.com and our online merchant Sage Payment Solutions). WethersfieldSoccer.org and Sage are both PCI Compliant and the club does not store ANY credit card information, so we encourage everyone to register and pay online from the comfort of your own home this Spring.
