ALL TRAVEL PLAYERS MUST TRYOUT, SO PLAN ON BEING THERE!
Travel players must be registered and paid PRIOR to tryouts
(Current travel players - DO NOT wear your uniform to tryouts)
The goal of tryouts is build teams with players of similar ability,
NOT to eliminate players.
Sports are great when parity abounds; unequal competition is not good regardless of which side of the talent pool that your child or team is on. While cuts could happen, we are hoping to have more teams and players, not less.
Increasing the number of players in our club is great for the long-term future of the club, the competitive ability of individual teams, and, most importantly, the kids.
Please arrive on time for check-in.
Challenger Sports will be running the tryouts for WGDRSC
WHERE: Cottone Field, Wethersfield High School
WHEN: FALL 2013- SPRING 2014: AGE/GRADE
- Monday June 3rd:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U10 (Grade 4) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U10 (Grade 4) Boys
- Tuesday June 4th:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U11 (Grade 5) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U11 (Grade 5) Boys
- Wednesday June 5th:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U12 (Grade 6) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U12 (Grade 6) Boys
- Thursday June 6th:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U13 (Grade 7) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U13 (Grade 7) Boys
- Friday June 7th:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U14 (Grade 8) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U14 (Grade 8) Boys
- Monday June 10th:
- 4:45 – 6:00: U9 (Grade 2&3) Girls
- 6:15 – 7:30: U9 (Grade 2&3) Boys
MAKE-UP NIGHTS IF NECESSARY TBD: WEEK OF 6/10
Please have your child show up to tryouts with turf shoes or cleats, shinguards, and
water.
Cottone Field is the turf field where WHS also plays football. You may enter both fields through the gates in the Northwest corner of the WHS property (behind the softball and baseball fields).
